Review – La Roisette, Valtournenche/Salette

14th February 2015 By Alastair Banks Leave a Comment

This lovely restaurant set just up from the lift coming up from Valtournenche was one that we stumbled upon on our second day in the Cervinia area. It was so much to our liking that we decided to go back on the fourth day, predominately due to one our party, Richard’s love of the Goulash soup!
An ample restaurant with very friendly staff. A few issues with speaking English but that appears to be par for the course around here. That said, the waiter we had on the second sitting spoke excellent English and was very pleasant indeed.
I had my textbook Spag Bol option and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I guess you’d expect that in Italy but its worth noting. Richard who I mentioned earlier has had Goulash soup in at least 3 other places this holiday and this one drew him half way across the mountain so high praise due there indeed.
On a slight downer the toilets weren’t up to much. Traditional European loos which us English find it hard to fathom.
To end on a plus point as this place really deserved it, they were kind enough to send us on our way with a free shot of their local tipple (a similar drink to the local love Genepy, just made with a different flower)
I’d highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.
Alastair.
